Concretism - ‘Don’t Forget The Empties’

hauntology, library music, archival reissues and retrophilia…all symptoms of a resurgent trend in electronic music for lost sounds in face of the crystal-clean modernism (or maximilism). at least, the realm of electronic music that I enjoy the most. blame it on an in depth education of Boards of Canada and downtempo IDM of the early 90’s, but this type of sound can do no wrong by me. considering the enchanted full length from Austin Cesear and Pye Corner Audio’s brand new LP, I thought I had more than enough new music to sate my penchant for this style of electronic music in 2012. but this is the internet, and the internet has more of everything. so i stumbled upon Concretism, a project devoted to public information/BBC archival recordings from the Cold War era woven through tape-raddled synth compositions.
