i was one of the few who stuck around for Demdike Stare’s performance at the final hour of ATP: I’ll Be Your Mirror this past weekend. they led 50 or so people in a massive warehouse through 45ish minutes of Elemental reworks of subterranean drones, awash in deep magenta and azure spotlights. in listening to their ‘Forest of Evil’ record this morning, i’ve realized how much this song, “Forest of Evil (Dusk)”, captures the progression of Sunday’s performance through its balanced and dynamic arrangement. 

they will perform at NYC again next Friday, October 5th, as part of the Bunker’s Modern Love showcase. tickets are still available and I recommend you spend money on this.
